Challenge

The Singapore Sports Hub is a key project of the Government of Singapore’s urban redevelopment initiative. It elevates Singapore’s sporting ecosystem on both a regional and global scale.

The complex provides Singaporeans with world-class facilities for sporting events, concerts, and international exhibitions. It was designed by Arup Associates and Singapore-based DP Architects.

A vast amount of ironmongery was required. The hardware addresses many needs, including stringent fire and smoke extraction and building automation requirements.

Solution

KeyTech worked closely with Dragages Singapore to deliver hardware that met the specifications and standards for each detail of the huge complex.

KeyTech carefully selected effective panic exit devices to ensure crowds could be efficiently evacuated. These open exit doors during an emergency – a potentially life-saving feature.

Successful completion

All the high-performance door hardware have stood the test of time, requiring minimum maintenance in heavy traffic conditions.

KeyTech was commended at the 2014-15 Architectural Ironmongery Specification Awards in the International Category. The recognition marks the KeyTech contribution to the success of the Sports Hub.
