Central Reclamation Phase III Waterfront Promenade
Attractive sustainable decking for a high traffic seafront location
Challenge
The Central Reclamation Phase III is an 18-hectare, high profile, high traffic location fringing Hong Kong’s iconic harbour.
Completed in 2012, the final phase of the project called for hard-wearing landscaping solutions that welcomed the public to the unique must-visit space.
This project also integrates major transport infrastructure initiatives like the Central-Wanchai Bypass and the future MTR North Island Line.
KeyTech was required to help fulfil the vision to transform the reclaimed waterfront promenade into a world-class visitor attraction.

Solution
Working closely with the consultant Atkins, KeyTech recommended, supplied and installed the ModWood composite timber decking solution at the site.
Unlike other decking products, ModWood features exceptional colour and dimensional stability when properly maintained.
The Modwood and VersiJack solutions work together creating a durable, low-maintenance promenade that promises years of public enjoyment.
Successful completion
KeyTech’s pairing of Modwood decking and structural steel supporting frame VersiJack® pedestals greatly increases the public appeal of the harbourfront promenade.
The authority responsible for the promenade appreciates the easy-to-maintain decking that supports the location’s increasingly high traffic.
